What does Pepper Spray, Spray Pattern mean?

A Pepper Spray's pattern describes the way the spray will exit the can. The five spray patterns are Stream, Gel, Fog, Foam, and Cone. Stream and gel sprays are the most common pepper products, but at Guard Dog Security we also offer the fog pattern.

Streaming Pepper Sprays: This is the most common type of pepper product. It is the most simple to use and doesn't need precise aim. This is because the stream releases as a narrow mist that mixes with air particles in its path. So even if you don't hit an attacker's eyes, nose, or mouth, the spray will still affect the person as they breathe in the air around them.

Pepper Gels: Pepper gel has a sticky formula that is harder to remove than traditional sprays. The path of the gel is also more precise, requiring better aim. If you miss with a gel and the product does not get on the attacker, it may not affect them.

Pepper Foggers: A fogger pepper spray will have a less direct stream than traditional spray or gel. It releases a larger, dense fog. Many times the device is larger and the product travels further than compact pepper sprays. Pepper foggers are intended to be used as home security or as a wild animal deterrent.Â
