What does bulletproof mean?

If something is bulletproof, it means that it is made to stop bullets from getting through.

In the US, the NIJ (National Institute of Justice) maintains the standards of what makes an item bulletproof. They measure this in levels and they vary by weapon strength. 

Our bulletproof products maintain the NIJ standard of NIJ-STD-0108.01 Level IIIA*
