"First, I did not buy this for the laser aiming on this product. I bought the pepper spray to see how well it worked.Before ever testing the spray potency I first tested how safely it could be carried. I carried one in my pocket while I had my wife carry one in her purse. Over four days neither one leaked or had accidental discharges. Both lasers were dead after four days. There is nothing to protect the laser switch and it was activated in every day pocket carry and purse carry. As a keychain this might not be an issue.As for the sprays effectiveness, it works very well. My mid 30's son is 6'0 and 280lbs. He likes to test a variety of self defense tools and that includes being sprayed with pepper spray. He said he was willing to be sprayed by this spray to test it. The best way to test the true effectiveness of self defense tools is when a person is not expecting it to be used on them. While we were doing yard work, I sprayed him with a 1.5-2 second burst directly on the eyes and nose at a range of 9 feet. After a six lag time of being sprayed and the spray starting to take effect, he was on his knees. He made it very clear that it was one of the worst sprays he has been hit with so far. He rates this spray in the top three of the 26 sprays he has tested on himself. It took a full 30 minutes of letting a water hose pour over his head and face for him to be able to go about normal life again. Before that he could not see and breathing was painful. He said the pain in his eyes, mouth, nose, throat, and lungs was terrible.My son also told me not to throw the used spray away. He wanted to see if it would still spray after a week of not being used or if the nozzle gums up. I have a feeling that I will be his intended test target as payback for catching him off guard when I sprayed him. I am very apprehensive about this and not looking forward to it at all. He also agreed that catching someone off guard to test these items is the best way to do so accurately.We both agree that an embossment around the laser button would help prevent the laser being accidentally activated, and battery drained, in everyday carry situations. I am ordering more Guard Dog Security sprays for their effectiveness. I trust this product for its intended purpose.Please remember that pepper sprays effects are not immediate. There is a delay of 5-10 seconds before the spray starts to effect the average individual. If you use it, maintain awareness of your surroundings. Spray and back away from your target if at all possible. If not possible to back away or run away, drop the spray and use both hands to push the attacker away from you while the spray takes effect. When the spray takes effect, move away from the attacker and go to someplace safe and call the authorities. Do not touch any part of your face after using pepper sprays. Wash your hands as quickly as possible."
